Rambling

I safely returned from a drive to Chicago for an Idexx work convention. It was a 12 hour trip split up in two days going out and one marathon drive returning home. I didn't get to see much of the city as we were stuck at the hotel near Chicago O'Hare airport from Saturday-Tuesday learning about the computer program we use at the office. It was informative and gave us inspiration for areas to improve, so I'm excited about that.

Today the rain finally stopped. The grass is grossly over grown, but it is so waterlogged that it is impossible to trim at this point. In order to enjoy some of the sunshine this morning while I'm off, I decided to kill the first of three or four overgrown shrubs in front of the house. I wasn't sure if I could conquer the root ball, but I did and it's completely out. I was pretty proud of myself! The space is very bare now, but if I continue with the rest of the shrubs, hopefully I can get new ones in place within the next week or so.

Zach bought a new car this past weekend and it will be ready to pick up on Friday or Saturday, depending on when we can both get there to sign paperwork. It's a Subaru Impreza. Four wheel drive was our goal with all of the crazy hills and the longer commute we'll have to deal with this winter. (I don't even want to think about it...) We're excited!
