Beach Escape

To fill a few vacation days, I made an overnight trip to Cape Henlopen, DE, with my pooch! I was a bit nervous that this trip wouldn't work out quite as I hoped, but I was so wrong. It was the best thing I had done for myself in a very long time! Everything about the day was perfect and I came home refreshed and feeling so much stronger!  Remy enjoyed the trip, too, after he figured out the water wasn't going to hurt him and that the waves brought smelly stuff up onto the beach for him. Our campsite was large, quiet and the perfect spot to relax in the heat of the afternoon and for an evening fire. For those twenty-four hours, there was no pressure to make the right choice, make plans, or worry about anything. So freeing!

Edyn's Baptism

Edyn and cousin James were baptized by their Great-Uncle Jack in September. It was a noisy, busy afternoon at Rob and Helen's home with the Clark family and in-laws as they celebrated the baptisms and cousin Henry's third birthday!

Fireman's Fair

The Clark girls came into town and we enjoyed a trip to the Fireman's Fair. This was a tradition when I was young and it was kind of funny going back there after such a long time with a new generation of little kids! Viv had a blast on the tractor ride, sitting in the blue barrels. We all treated ourselves to a large, delicious bowl of homemade ice cream. To conclude the night, we had front row seats to a great fireworks display and everyone but Edyn enjoyed it. All in all, a fun family night!
