Halloween Camping Trip

I joined Mom and Dad and the Clarks for a Halloween camping trip.  Our arrival on Friday was in a very cold, rainy downpour.  Our plans to tent quickly changed and we all packed in together in the warm camper.  Our day Saturday was dry but still very cold and windy.   The campground had a trick-or-treat event planned for the afternoon-  Viv had a blast while Edyn snoozed!  We had a good time together as a family, with grilled cheese in pie irons, campfires, giggles, games and walks with the dogs.

Longwood Gardens

In October, I visited Longwood Gardens with Mom, Melisa, Viv and Edyn. We try to find a way to remember Grandma each year and do something together that we would have enjoyed together with her.  Grandma loved the beauty of flowers and would have loved to be a part of this trip with her great-grandchildren.  We spent a full day at the gardens and in the evening, we walked through the gardens' Nightscape event.

It was such a beautiful day and perfect weather.  The joy from these girls absolutely renews my spirit.

Beach Escape

To fill a few vacation days, I made an overnight trip to Cape Henlopen, DE, with my pooch! I was a bit nervous that this trip wouldn't work out quite as I hoped, but I was so wrong. It was the best thing I had done for myself in a very long time! Everything about the day was perfect and I came home refreshed and feeling so much stronger!  Remy enjoyed the trip, too, after he figured out the water wasn't going to hurt him and that the waves brought smelly stuff up onto the beach for him. Our campsite was large, quiet and the perfect spot to relax in the heat of the afternoon and for an evening fire. For those twenty-four hours, there was no pressure to make the right choice, make plans, or worry about anything. So freeing!

Ari is Growing Up!

Edyn's Baptism

Edyn and cousin James were baptized by their Great-Uncle Jack in September. It was a noisy, busy afternoon at Rob and Helen's home with the Clark family and in-laws as they celebrated the baptisms and cousin Henry's third birthday!

Fireman's Fair

The Clark girls came into town and we enjoyed a trip to the Fireman's Fair. This was a tradition when I was young and it was kind of funny going back there after such a long time with a new generation of little kids! Viv had a blast on the tractor ride, sitting in the blue barrels. We all treated ourselves to a large, delicious bowl of homemade ice cream. To conclude the night, we had front row seats to a great fireworks display and everyone but Edyn enjoyed it. All in all, a fun family night!

One Step at a Time

I'm still at it! Increasing the length of time that I'm running versus walking, I'm getting stronger and more determined to reach farther and try harder!

Happy Birthday!

Viv celebrated her third birthday this year!  Mel and Thom had everyone over to their house on a very hot sunny day in July.  Prior to the party, Mom helped me complete a birthday dress for the party. It sparkled and glittered in the sun and Viv was in love!  Viv had a great time unwrapping gifts. Some highlights- lots of bubbles, tutus, her own violin, and a new bike!  Viv is such a special girl and many friends and family love her very much!  Happy birthday, girl!

Fourth of July

For the Fourth, I visited the Clarks while they were at Mom and Dad's. The weekend included lots of books, good food, Viv's first s'mores and a bonfire.

Ari

Ari is the newest member of our family. She was left abandoned at our clinic as a 6 week old kitten. I took her home over a weekend so she wouldn't be caged without anyone around. Well, I fell in love and here she is! She is a fabulous snuggler but full of a tremendous amount of energy!  She makes me smile and laugh and for that I am grateful.

Memorial Day Weekend

Playgrounds, dancing, Viv & Uncle Zach, walks, dinner and time with the family - the highlights of my weekend.
