Baby Quilt

This lovely quilt was so fun to make!  As with many of my recent projects, I found this quilt design on a sewing blog. It looked like the perfect gift for my cousin who was welcoming a baby girl after having two boys. I was also able to use some of my Grandma's fabrics (the pink fabric used in the quilt and as the border).

I've never really done any ruffling, but the blog tutorial indicated that the ruffling could be done without a ruffler sewing attachment but instead with some adjustments of the tension using your regular sewing foot. The ruffling ended up working well on some of the fabrics but not others.  I have no idea why.

Anyway, the quilt turned out super cute and super girly.  I will definitely keep this on my favorite list for future baby girls!

Spring!

Thank God for spring!  I swear I was going to lose it if we didn't get some warmer weather here soon. Nothing says spring, though like sore leg muscles from biking and callauses of your hands from gardening!  I enjoyed getting back into the groove and at this point I think I've uncovered all of my garden flower beds and will soon add some nourishment and mulch, sit back and watch everything grow!  In the meantime Remy and I are out of the bike for some much needed fresh air and new scenery. How did you enjoy your day?
