Both Vivi and Annalise are growing up quickly! Here's a quick update from Aunt Laura's perspective:
Vivi's vocabulary and story-telling are growing every day. It's so much fun to "have a conversation" with her. Viv's also learning to work the crowd to her benefit, finding the right person to give her what she wants! Viv loves to dance and enjoyed a trip to CPYB rehearsal with her mom, which she enjoyed a lot! Her hair has the cutest curls, but she's still reluctant to get it brushed very often. I guess that helps to give it more volume! She enjoys Remy a lot when he comes to visit and he is very patient with everything she does, except maybe when she pokes him in the nostrils. The poor kittens were chased after, carried, danced with and dropped more than a few times while Viv was at Mom and Dad's house. They were very tolerant and quick enough to escape her most of the time!
Annalise is sitting, crawling, and standing with support. When I saw her recently, she was intently staring at me as a less familiar face, but she's not shy and always smiling! She's very interested in interacting with others now and will sometimes fuss if her mom tries to put her down for a nap and walk away. She's also discovered some amazingly wonderful expressions in these past two weeks!

Thanksgiving
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Zach and I were able to visit the Hawk family for a nice dinner on Thanksgiving day. Both his grandparents and sister were able to attend. The meal included the usual recipes, including the "Drunken Turkey" and sausage stuffing. I contributed a pumpkin pie, which was the fan favorite, and a pear crisp, which unfortunately wasn't very popular and didn't taste all that good. Next year I'll try to whip up two pies instead of just one, but I was really pressed for time just before Thanksgiving this year.
Mel and Thom visited before and after Thanksgiving. I was working when they visited before Thanksgiving, but after the holiday, we enjoyed a visit to HersheyPark and another turkey dinner on Saturday. Zach cooked a fabulous sausage stuffed turkey on the grill. No hiccups in the preparation or grilling of this year's bird! Don't tell her mom, but even Viv helped out a little bit in preparing it!
Viv's enthusiasm at the rides at HersheyPark was awesome! She loved every ride and was disappointed that she wasn't tall enough to go on the Hershey Kiss-sized rides!
I think I have more pictures somewhere...I'll add them later if I find them!
It's a...
GIRL! Mel and Thom invited family over to the Clark's for a gender reveal party on Thanksgiving day. We enjoyed the surprised faces when pink frosting was revealed in the slice of the cake. Most folks, including Viv, expected it would be a boy. Apparently Viv's name for this baby is "Angel" (as a boy's name)!
Birthday for Angela
Steve planned a sweet (literally!) getaway for his family in honor of Angela's birthday in November. The destination was Hershey, PA, and we were invited to join them for dinner one evening. We met at Troegs Brewery and enjoyed hugely over-sized portions of tasty food. It was great to visit with Annalise as well, as she is growing up so quickly. I'm sad that it's so long in between visits with her, but I will savor the moments as they come. Here are a few pictures from that day.

Kitten-sitting
Mom and Dad got two new kittens just before leaving on vacation which meant I was asked to kitten-sit!
Ellie
Ava
Chesapeake
Zach and I enjoyed a fishing trip on the Chesapeake during one of my business trips. It was a beautiful weekend!
Wedding Quilt
I completed this quilt for Melisa and Thom! It was given uncompleted as their wedding gift and finished two years later. I loved the process and especially my opportunity to use a long-arm quilt to quilt the top!

Havre de Grace
A beautifully relaxing weekend in August was spent in Havre de Grace. Angela's family has a condo and she graciously invited us there for a visit!

A Toddler's Perspective
During our family gathering in Havre de Grace, Viv "borrowed" my camera for a while. I thought these photos were cute.
