This weekend I busily sorted through all the boxes that were literally thrown into the storage closet and in the garage. I resorted, repacked, and restored things to my liking. All that translated into being able to create my craft closet and sort through all of my crafty things. Right now I have some of my fabrics and gift wrapping items out on shelving. The tubs contain more fabric and sewing projects that I hope to get out onto shelves as well. I also hope to get my scrapbook station set up soon so that I can get back to finishing my wedding scrapbook!

As I sorted trough my fabric, I rediscovered fabrics I had forgotten about, like this bird print from my grandmother that I used to freshen up an old pillow for the living room couch.

It re-energized my creative spirit and I was also able to make this round tablecloth for the dining room table. I embarked on the rather insane task of creating my own bias tape for it. I had never done that before and man, is it a convoluted task. But, I did it without too much frustration and it turned out great!

And with an awesome second hand find, I updated this old cork board/chalkboard combo with some leftover fabric. (I think I might need to buy some new cork board now that I see this picture.)

My next project is to reupholster a chair for the living room, which will definitely be a whole new experience. Once that's complete, I'll need Zach to help me with hanging pictures and then the kitchen and living room will be awesome! Home ownership is so exciting! :)
